Draft Version Proverbs 15 ¹An answer when gentle puts anger away ¹While hard words engender a wrathful display ²The tongue of the wise seeks with inkling adorn ²But fools issue nonsense as if it were sworn ³The eyes of Jehovah are always in place ³He watches both evil and good in his grace ⁴The curative tongue helps to keep one alive ⁴But viciousness causes a lacking in drive ⁵A fool is despising his father's restraint ⁵And he who's regarding reproof is a saint ⁶The house of the just is abundant with gold ⁶But wicked ones gather where trouble is sold ⁷The lips of the wise scatter knowledge around ⁷The heart of the stupid is not to be found ⁸A gift made in guilt gets Jehovah's disgust ⁸But pleasure he takes in the prayer of the just ⁹The way of the bad is abhorred in his sight ⁹Those keeping the law are Jehovah's delight ¹⁰To one who is leaving the way doom is dire ¹⁰And he who is hating good sense will expire ¹¹The grave and destruction Jehovah knows well ¹¹So how much the heart of a man now pray tell ¹²A mocker does not a reprover adore ¹²Nor goes he to visit the wise anymore ¹³A heart that is joyful will have a good face ¹³And pain in the heart of a sad one a place ¹⁴A heart is discerning when seeking to know ¹⁴But fools in a word have their folly in tow ¹⁵The days of the needy are seemingly bad ¹⁵The heart of the merry perpetual glad ¹⁶A little with fear of Jehovah is grand ¹⁶And better than treasure with trouble at hand ¹⁷So better a dinner of herbs and with love ¹⁷Than barley-fed beef and pure hatred above ¹⁸A man who is angry is stirring up fire ¹⁸And quieting contest is one slow to ire ¹⁹The path of the sluggard is thorny and grown ¹⁹The way of the upright is plainly made known ²⁰A son who is cheering his father is wise ²⁰But stupid is one to his mother despise ²¹A folly is joy to the lacking of mind ²¹But straight is the walk of the reasoning kind ²²Where counsel is wanting go plans unfullfilled ²²But guidance aplenty is seeing them willed ²³A man takes delight in the answer he gives ²³A word in its time is the life that he lives ²⁴The wise one is journeying upward for know ²⁴It keeps him away from the grave down below ²⁵Jehovah will root out the haughty man's hold ²⁵The place of the widow is founded of old ²⁶The thoughts of the wicked Jehovah does hate ²⁶But pureness is causing a pleasanter state ²⁷The greedy of gain does upset his own seat ²⁷But one hating gifts will see life as a treat ²⁸The heart of the just before speaking will stew ²⁸But ills from the mouth of the evil one spew ²⁹Jehovah is far from the wicked one's wrong ²⁹The prayer of the upright he hears like a song ³⁰The light of the eyes is refreshing the will ³⁰And good news is making the bones fatter still _31,32 ³¹The ear that considers instruction lives wise ³¹And he that will not his own soul does despise ³³The fear of Jehovah is warning to grow ³³Humility comes before glory you know © 2004 Ward Green. Proverbs 15 8 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to Jehovah; But the prayer of the upright is his delight. Proverbs 15 9 The way of the wicked is an abomination to Jehovah; But he loveth him that followeth after righteousness. Proverbs 15 10 There is grievous correction for him that forsaketh the way; [And] he that hateth reproof shall die. Proverbs 15 11 Sheol and Abaddon are before Jehovah: How much more then the hearts of the children of men! Proverbs 15 12 A scoffer loveth not to be reproved; He will not go unto the wise. Proverbs 15 13 A glad heart maketh a cheerful countenance; But by sorrow of heart the spirit is broken. Proverbs 15 14 The heart of him that hath understanding seeketh knowledge; But the mouth of fools feedeth on folly. Proverbs 15 15 All the days of the afflicted are evil; But he that is of a cheerful heart [hath] a continual feast. Proverbs 15 16 Better is little, with the fear of Jehovah, Than great treasure and trouble therewith. Proverbs 15 17 Better is a dinner of herbs, where love is, Than a stalled ox and hatred therewith. Proverbs 15 18 A wrathful man stirreth up contention; But he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife. Proverbs 15 19 The way of the sluggard is as a hedge of thorns; But the path of the upright is made a highway. Proverbs 15 20 A wise son maketh a glad father; But a foolish man despiseth his mother. Proverbs 15 22 Where there is no counsel, purposes are disappointed; But in the multitude of counsellors they are established. Proverbs 15 23 A man hath joy in the answer of his mouth; And a word in due season, how good is it! Proverbs 15 24 To the wise the way of life [goeth] upward, That he may depart from Sheol beneath. Proverbs 15 25 Jehovah will root up the house of the proud; But he will establish the border of the widow. Proverbs 15 26 Evil devices are an abomination to Jehovah; But pleasant words [are] pure. Proverbs 15 27 He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; But he that hateth bribes shall live. Proverbs 15 28 The heart of the righteous studieth to answer; But the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things. Proverbs 15 29 Jehovah is far from the wicked; But he heareth the prayer of the righteous. Proverbs 15 30 The light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart; [And] good tidings make the bones fat. Proverbs 15 31 The ear that hearkeneth to the reproof of life Shall abide among the wise. Proverbs 15 32 He that refuseth correction despiseth his own soul; But he that hearkeneth to reproof getteth understanding. Proverbs 15 33 The fear of Jehovah is the instruction of wisdom; And before honor [goeth] humility.
