Micah 2
1Woe to those devising evil, and those rehearsing wickedness upon their beds! By first light they begin to do it, because they are in the hands of the idol.

2They have delighted in a field and so dispossessed it, and daughters, marrying them, and so they cheat a righteous man out of his house, and some man out of his inheritance.

3``In retribution on the other side,'' Jehovah says, ``Look! I am weaving against this tribe a wretchedness that you shall not remove from off the backs of your necks. You shall not dance cock-a-whoop in that time for your adversity.''

4-6At the same time the proverb taken up over you and the wailing in lamentation over you goes like this:
Robbed of our lot
Yes, robbed are we
My people have been smattered
And my ground set free
To heathens has he given
What was meant to be
The boundary of my people
Is removed from me
The lot isn't measured
And the cord not cast
Assembled of Jehovah
From the word do fast
For many of Jehovah
Is the word not past
From prophecy admitted
To disgrace at last
7The boasts of the house of Jacob have discouraged the spirit of Jehovah, because these same have not tried very hard to think or walk straight.

8But of late my people do rise up with haste in splendid clothing and run across into hiding away from battle.

9The women of my people are driven out from their houses. Luxury is taken as above children, and magnificence as forever.

10Rise up and step away! This is truly not your resting place, for her uncleanness binds one as a tether to the snare of grief.

11As a man spins around in anger, as a liar lies, ``I prophesy to you: `To your wine, and to your hard liquor!' '' so this people has come to pass from prophecy.

12I will gather Jacob together, all of you, as many as I gather. I will assemble the remnant from Israel united, as many as I assemble. I will set them as a flock in a pen, in Bozrah, and in the midst of the pasture will be arrayed a great tumult of men.

13The urge for breaking out will grow, before the breaking out and going out of the gate and escaping. Their King will go out before them, Jehovah at their forefront.

Micah 2 1
Woe to them that devise iniquity and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand.
Micah 2 2
And they covet fields, and seize them; and houses, and take them away: and they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage.
Micah 2 3
Therefore thus saith Jehovah: Behold, against this family do I devise an evil, from which ye shall not remove your necks, neither shall ye walk haughtily; for it is an evil time.
Micah 2 4
In that day shall they take up a parable against you, and lament with a doleful lamentation, [and] say, We are utterly ruined: he changeth the portion of my people: how doth he remove [it] from me! to the rebellious he divideth our fields.
Micah 2 5
Therefore thou shalt have none that shall cast the line by lot in the assembly of Jehovah.
Micah 2 6
Prophesy ye not, [thus] they prophesy. They shall not prophesy to these: reproaches shall not depart.
Micah 2 7
Shall it be said, O house of Jacob, Is the Spirit of Jehovah straitened? are these his doings? Do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly?
Micah 2 8
But of late my people is risen up as an enemy: ye strip the robe from off the garment from them that pass by securely [as men] averse from war.
Micah 2 9
The women of my people ye cast out from their pleasant houses; from their young children ye take away my glory for ever.
Micah 2 10
Arise ye, and depart; for this is not your resting-place; because of uncleanness that destroyeth, even with a grievous destruction.
Micah 2 11
If a man walking in a spirit of falsehood do lie, [saying], I will prophesy unto thee of wine and of strong drink; he shall even be the prophet of this people.
Micah 2 12
I will surely assemble, O Jacob, all of thee; I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah, as a flock in the midst of their pasture; they shall make great noise by reason of [the multitude of] men.
Micah 2 13
The breaker is gone up before them: they have broken forth and passed on to the gate, and are gone out thereat; and their king is passed on before them, and Jehovah at the head of them.
