Micah 3
1Answer the witness, I beseech, chiefs of Jacob and princes of Israel, those not knowing any justice!

2-3Haters of good and lovers of worse, those stripping the skin of them from off of them and the flesh of them from off their bones, who also wolf down the flesh of my people, stripping the skin clean off. Even these bones of them they snap and pulverize in order to boil them with the flesh, in the midst of the kettle.

4Then they will cry out to Jehovah but he will not hear them, and he will hide his face from them during the same time that the evil works afflict them.

5Jehovah has spoken like this: Against the prophets, the deceivers of my people, userers who sting them as a serpent with sharp teeth, pronouncing prosperity, and which is not forthcoming by reason of the sound of their words. Against them, war!

6This is the night of their vision and the darkness of their soothsaying. But the light must come against the prophets and the day must mourn over them.

7The seers will be confounded, and the sharers of the vision will be ashamed. They shall all cover their upper lips, while God shall not answer.

8However, I am full of the fruitage of the spirit of Jehovah, and the verdict and the mighty act of exposing, to reveal to Jacob his revolt-- also to Israel his sin.

9-11Witness this I beseech, chiefs of the house of Jacob and princes of the house of Israel: By abominable judgments everything straight will be made crooked, building Zion upon innocent blood or Jerusalem upon unrighteousness. Her chiefs take bribes for judgment, her priests, Kohens, teach for pay, and her prophets take money for divining, but contrary to Jehovah they rest and say: ``Jehovah is not in our midst! No evil shall come upon us!''

12To put it right because of them Zion will be ploughed up as a field, Jerusalem will become ruins, and the mountain of the house will grow to the height of a forest.

Micah 3 1
And I said, Hear, I pray you, ye heads of Jacob, and rulers of the house of Israel: is it not for you to know justice?
Micah 3 2
ye who hate the good, and love the evil; who pluck off their skin from off them, and their flesh from off their bones;
Micah 3 3
who also eat the flesh of my people, and flay their skin from off them, and break their bones, and chop them in pieces, as for the pot, and as flesh within the caldron.
Micah 3 4
Then shall they cry unto Jehovah, but he will not answer them; yea, he will hide his face from them at that time, according as they have wrought evil in their doings.
Micah 3 5
Thus saith Jehovah concerning the prophets that make my people to err; that bite with their teeth, and cry, Peace; and whoso putteth not into their mouths, they even prepare war against him:
Micah 3 6
Therefore it shall be night unto you, that ye shall have no vision; and it shall be dark unto you, that ye shall not divine; and the sun shall go down upon the prophets, and the day shall be black over them.
Micah 3 7
And the seers shall be put to shame, and the diviners confounded; yea, they shall all cover their lips; for there is no answer of God.
Micah 3 8
But as for me, I am full of power by the Spirit of Jehovah, and of judgment, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin.
Micah 3 9
Hear this, I pray you, ye heads of the house of Jacob, and rulers of the house of Israel, that abhor justice, and pervert all equity.
Micah 3 10
They build up Zion with blood, and Jerusalem with iniquity.
Micah 3 11
The heads thereof judge for reward, and the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money: yet they lean upon Jehovah, and say, Is not Jehovah in the midst of us? no evil shall come upon us.
Micah 3 12
Therefore shall Zion for your sake be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of a forest.
