The wheel is a symbol of technology that has already been invented.   Still, even old technology can be useful if it fits a new purpose.

It is fair to say that the entire industrialized world as we know it could not exist without the wheel.   Wheels are used on automobiles, motorcycles, bicycles, wheelchairs, and even airplanes.   More than this, a vast assortment of mechanical equipment, engines, etc... utilizes the technology of the wheel in some fashion.   All rotary knobs and dials are based on it.   Even computer hard drives, floppy disks, CD's, tapes, and many other media all are based on the wheel.
