Pineapple Grapefruit Orange Lemon Lime Juice

We prepare this juice every day or every second day and we drink it every day, storing it in sealed mason jars. When made with a slow-turning twin-gear like the one we have it is utterly unbelievable how good it is. We used to make it with our old high-speed juicer, but soon got of drinking it. We never seem to tire of the flavour we get with our newer slow-speed juicer, though.

The thing about the enzymes in pineapple is that they aid in the digestion of beef. Oranges are also a major source of calcium, and since the juice is made fresh it surpasses milk as a nutritional source of calcium, as well as many other nutrients.

While I don't know what is right for you, this juice is a real winner for me.

I take my supplements with this juice, and I often have it after a salad or after another meal.

Requires a slow-speed juicer like the Green Power Gold Twin Gear Juicer or another Green Star Juicer from greenpower.com

Pineapple Grapefruit Orange Lemon Lime Juice

1 large (2 small, 1½ medium) organic pineapples
1 organic grapefruit, any size (2 if very small)
6 small (or 4 large) organic oranges
1 slice organic lemon
1 organic lime
Organic pineapple does NOT need to be peeled for this recipe, nor does the lemon or the lime. Peel the grapefruit and oranges only, leaving as much of the white as you wish.

Slice the pineapple (with the skin on) into 1"-thick slices, and reassemble the slices, then make 1" cubes by cutting down in two directions.

Peel the grapefruit(s) and oranges and cut into either quarters or eighths depending on what fits well into the juicer.

Cut a single slice of lemon and cut it in half, and cut the lime in quarters.

Using the Green Power Juicer:

You may use the juicer without the Outlet Adjustment Knob installed, so that nothing is obstructing the outlet.

You may use a large bowl for pulp and a 4-cup measuring cup for the juice.

First juice some orange or grapefruit pieces, catching the pulp outlet with a large bowl until the first juice comes out the pulp outlet. After this only pulp comes out the pulp outlet.

Juice half of the orange, grapefruit, lemon, and lime.

Juice half of the pineapple last, or stop if the measuring cup is full.

Drink some of juice as soon as it is made, since vitamins and other nutrients may quickly dissipate. You might taste a very big difference between new juice and juice which is two day's old.

Empty the measuring cup into the drinking glasses or mason jars and begin juicing again until all the fruit is gone.

Drink the juice, refrigerate the leftovers in mason jars, and wash the juicer.

Don't forget to clean the sink.

Makes about 8 cups to last for two days.
