Strawberry Rawberry Pie
This is the best pie I have ever eaten. It contains a number of fruits, nuts, grains, seeds, and berries (a helping of goji berries is included in the crust). It also contains oils. All of the ingredients are bought in the raw state and utilized raw (which for some nut varieties may require some shopping at health food or bulk stores). They may be dried (like goji berries or raisins), but none are cooked. All ingredients in our Strawberry Rawberry pie are certified as organic. The ingredients may be readily substituted with other nut and fruit varieties, but they are in any case organic and are forever left in the uncooked (raw) state. How can a pie taste this good without even going into the oven? I don't know anything as healthy or that tastes as good as this pie!
Not only does it taste good, the goodness of the goji (wolfberry) is well-known, and the variety of pies possible using this recipe as a starting point is endless. Depending only on the proper choice and combination of the many nuts, seeds, fruits, and grains available, the master chef has a field day with this one. A first-time chef may have phenomal success with this recipe given here without modification.
One small piece of this pie is quite filling.
The recipe uses available berries and nuts.
There are many variations to this recipe possible.
Grind ingredients well (to about the consistency of coarse sand) and press into a dinner plate. This crust is so good for nutrient value it is tempting to eat it on its own. It tastes delicious too.
¼ cup almonds (or walnuts, etc...)
¼ cup pumpkin seeds
¼ cup spelt flakes
¼ cup goji berries (dried)
¼ cup brazil nuts (or sesame seeds, etc...)
½ - 1½ tsp nutmeg (say, ¾ tsp)
½ - peel of whole tangerine (peel only, NOT fruit)
4 large blueberries (optional)
1 T sunflower oil (or olive oil, etc...)
1 T honey
1 tsp organic vanilla (optional)
½ - 1 cup strawberriesBlend topping well using a food processor or blender.
¼ - ½ cup extra virgin olive oil (cold-pressed)
½ cup almonds (or walnuts, etc...)
2 - 4 T honey (optional)
1 tsp organic vanilla (optional)
1 small lime (or 1 slice lemon) (optional)
Makes about 16 pieces. Keeps well. Yummy!
