Isaiah 66
1Jehovah has spoken like this: ``The heavens are my throne, so the earth is my footstool. Where is there any other house that one could build for me, or place where I could rest my feet?

2``I Myself have made all of these things by my own hand, and all of these things are continuing,'' says Jehovah. ``Toward this one I look, to the humble and abused of spirit, to the one fearful of My words.

3``One slaughtering a bull is as one hitting a human being, and as one breaking a dog's neck is a person sacrificing a lamb. He who lifts up an offering is like one offering pig's blood, and he who makes a memorial gift with frankincense is like one kneeling down before an idol-- for they are possessed of their way and they thus make idols of the living.

4``But I shall try by troubles, they will be seized by fear for the reason that I called but they didn't listen, I spoke but they didn't hear correctly. As I saw it they kept on doing bad, choosing what displeased me.

5``Hear the word of Jehovah correctly, those fearful with the word! Tell relatives who hate you and cast you out on account of my name's sake: `Jehovah be glorified that we may experience rejoicing!' but they will have to be ashamed.''

6The voice of uproar in the city, a voice in the temple-- it is the voice of Jehovah making good in that he even repays his adversaries.

7But wait, she is in labour! She gave birth! But wait, her contractions have started! She bore a son!

8Who has heard of anything like this? Or who has seen anything like it? If one day the earth gives birth it doesn't give birth to a country in one stroke!? But Zion has so also laboured and has born a son.

9``Shall I bring to the birth and not herald the pedigree,'' says Jehovah? ``Am I delivering a son or am I withholding something?'' God has told: 10``Rejoice with Jerusalem, the city of two-fold peace! All those who loved her be glad-- all those who were mourning over her, 11in order to suck to full satisfaction from the teat of her compassion and to suck of the milk of exquisite delight from the teat of her glory.''

12Yes, so says Jehovah: ``I am prolonging in her peace just like a river, inundating her with a flood of the glory of nations. You will suck and be lifted up in her arms, and on her knees you will be fondled.

13``As someone comforted by his mother, this is the way I shall comfort you in consoling Jerusalem.

14``You will see it, and you will rejoice in heart, and your strength will flourish as the tender grass, for the hand of Jehovah will be made known to his servants, and He will even foam at the mouth against his enemies.

15``For see! Jehovah is coming as a fire and is whirling around as chariots in a hurricane, his anger in heat from his nostrils even answers with a flame of fire. 16``Jehovah even gives judgment by fire, and with his sword he comes against all flesh-- Jehovah pierces en masse.

17``Those who sanctify the flesh of pigs and declare it sacred in the garden after first eating its hind end, those eating filth, and those eating such as mice will perish altogether,'' Jehovah gives the oracle.

18``For I know their ways and their thoughts and it will happen that all nations and tongues will gather together that they may come to see my glory.

19``But I will set a sign among them to send their escaped ones to the Gentiles: to Tarshish (Spain), to Pul (Africa) and Lud (Lydia), Meshech and Rosh (or them who draw the bow), Tubal (Italy) and Javan (Greece), to islands and places too remote to have heard news of or to have seen my glory. To the nations of my glory they shall tell.

20``All your brothers will come from all the nations as an offering to Jehovah: by horse, by chariot, by covered wagon, by mule, and by camel, to Jerusalem, my holy mountain,'' says Jehovah. ``Because the sons of Israel take an offering into Jehovah's house in a clean vessel, 21some of them I shall take as priests and and as Levites,'' says Jehovah.

22``For as the new heavens and the new earth which I am creating are enduring before my face,'' says the oracle of Jehovah, ``so also your posterity and reputation.

23``It will come to pass that: from new moon to new moon and from Sabbath to Sabbath all flesh will come in and prostrate themselves before My face,'' says Jehovah.

24``They will go out and see the dead bodies of the men who had broken away from me-- seeing the maggots which did not die and the fire which did not go out-- truly it became a thing abhorred of all flesh.''

Isaiah 66 1
Thus saith Jehovah, Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: what manner of house will ye build unto me? and what place shall be my rest?
Isaiah 66 2
For all these things hath my hand made, and [so] all these things came to be, saith Jehovah: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and that trembleth at my word.
Isaiah 66 3
He that killeth an ox is as he that slayeth a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as he that breaketh a dog`s neck; he that offereth an oblation, [as he that offereth] swine`s blood; he that burneth frankincense, as he that blesseth an idol. Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations:

Isaiah 66 5
Hear the word of Jehovah, ye that tremble at his word: Your brethren that hate you, that cast you out for my name`s sake, have said, Let Jehovah be glorified, that we may see your joy; but it is they that shall be put to shame.
Isaiah 66 6
A voice of tumult from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of Jehovah that rendereth recompense to his enemies.

Isaiah 66 9
Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith Jehovah: shall I that cause to bring forth shut [the womb]? saith thy God.
Isaiah 66 10
Rejoice ye with Jerusalem, and be glad for her, all ye that love her: rejoice for joy with her, all ye that mourn over her;
Isaiah 66 11
that ye may suck and be satisfied with the breasts of her consolations; that ye may milk out, and be delighted with the abundance of her glory.
Isaiah 66 12
For thus saith Jehovah, Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the nations like an overflowing stream: and ye shall suck [thereof]; ye shall be borne upon the side, and shall be dandled upon the knees.

As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem.

Isaiah 66 15
For, behold, Jehovah will come with fire, and his chariots shall be like the whirlwind; to render his anger with fierceness, and his rebuke with flames of fire.
Isaiah 66 16
For by fire will Jehovah execute judgment, and by his sword, upon all flesh; and the slain of Jehovah shall be many.
Isaiah 66 17
They that sanctify themselves and purify themselves [to go] unto the gardens, behind one in the midst, eating swine`s flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, they shall come to an end together, saith Jehovah.
Isaiah 66 18
For I [know] their works and their thoughts: [the time] cometh, that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and shall see my glory.
Isaiah 66 19
And I will set a sign among them, and I will send such as escape of them unto the nations, to Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, that draw the bow, to Tubal and Javan, to the isles afar off, that have not heard my fame, neither have seen my glory; and they shall declare my glory among the nations.
Isaiah 66 20
And they shall bring all your brethren out of all the nations for an oblation unto Jehovah, upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and upon mules, and upon dromedaries, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, saith Jehovah, as the children of Israel bring their oblation in a clean vessel into the house of Jehovah.
Isaiah 66 21
And of them also will I take for priests [and] for Levites, saith Jehovah.
Isaiah 66 22
For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith Jehovah, so shall your seed and your name remain.
